It also harbours a huge variety of exotic flora and fauna.
My trip to Nal-sarovar with Dennis started at 04:30 in the morning. The primary reason behind starting so early was to observe the sun rising over the horizon on a a chilly winter morning on the foreground of the lake. We reached there well in time. Once you reach Nal-sarovar and if you have your own vehicle, the best thing to do is to take the tickets (200 Rs per car, 6 people allowed) and straight away park your car in the parking near the Lake. You will find a huge gang of locals vying the visitors for taking a boat ride accross the lake. We hired a boat-rover for 551 INR for a 3.5 Hrs sail. The air was cool and the water was cooler!!!!!! we could spot quite a few birds some 2 Kms inside the lake. Our main aim being photography, we were ready with our shooting gear sooner as we reached the lake. Spotted and shot a few birds (not a gun-shot), we were now eagerly waiting for the sun to rise up the horizon.
and there it was, the first rays of the dawn, and we could see a masive red ball rising slowkly up the sky. Perfect opportunity for amateur photographers like us!!!! Perfect shots!!!!!!!!!!! We were happy!!!!!!
A couple of hours more at the lake and we were back on our journey back home. Perfect way to spend a early saturday morning with Birds, cool of the lake and a perfectly posing rising Sun!!!!!!
Couldn't ask for anything more!!!! The best time to travel to Nal-sarovar is in the winters i.e. november-february. Ideal way of transport is to have your own vehicle. But if you opt for public transport, local buses and private vehicles run from ahmedabad to Nal-sarovar on a regular basis.
